First, a great big THANK YOU and shout-out to one of my favorite book bloggers, Michelle Clements James, for giving me this Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award. Michelle and I keep in close contact as we have similar tastes in books. Many of the books I’ve enjoyed reading this year were discovered on her book blog, Book Chat: Let’s talk about books. You can find Michelle and her blog, Book Chat, by clicking here.
Like me, Michelle wishes days were twice as long because there’s so many things she wants to do and so many books she wants to read, and there’s never enough time. Michelle loves decorating for her favorite holidays, Halloween and Christmas and spending time with her grandchildren is her #1 most favorite thing in the world. I’m not a grandmother yet, but when I am, I hope I’m as cool as Michelle. Blogging, baking, decorating . . .
So what’s this Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award?
Rules of the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award:
- All recipients must thank the giver in their post
- Post 7 things about yourself
- Pass the award on to 7 other bloggers of your choice and let them know that they have been nominated
- Include the logo of the award in a post or on your blog
So here we go…
All recipients must thank the giver.
Michelle, you’re the bomb! Thank you so much for this award!
Seven totally random things about me:
1.) I don’t like cooked celery in my Chinese food. Because that’s GROSS. Raw celery? I eat it all the time. But cooked? Pa-leez. I push those nasty things right off my plate. I just swoosh! them right off. Bye-bye, cooked celery!
2.) I’ve got a thing for Altoids – those “curiously strong mints” that come in those hip little metal containers. I drive around town popping them in my mouth like they’re my minty white happy pills. Not that I need them for my breath (at least, I hope I don’t!) I just love sucking on them; they help me think. I sometimes pop two and three at a time which is probably a bit excessive but that doesn’t make me a bad person. I can think of worse things to do as I cruise around town driving carpools. And those snazzy metal containers they come in? They’re all over my house. I make little art projects out of them, store paperclips, quarters and magnets in them. Need a toenail clipper? It’s in the Altoids container marked: Toenail clippers.
3.) I have four children and one husband. Which is a lot easier than having one child and four husbands. Although, I’d probably own more jewelry if I had four husbands. Hhmm. That’s something to consider moving forward . . .
4.) I’m a big fat hypocrite because I fuss at my kids for always wrecking the house but then I turn around and make HUGE, GINORMOUS, truly EPIC messes in my craft studio because I love keeping my hands busy. Quilts, scrapbooks, handmade cards, paper flowers, you name it, I’ll try to make it. I once tried to make puppets out of wine corks. Didn’t like the result because the puppets kept getting tangled in their own fishing line but I did score a really cool cork bird from the project. I named him Cork Bird.
5.) I’m writing a novel. Satirical humor about the competitive life of moms. Not that I’m competitive. Oh, gosh, no. Me? I’m sure plenty of moms write novels while juggling china and balancing a board on their heads. Don’t they?
6.) Favorite color? Periwinkle. Not quite blue. Not quite purple. Don’t let the cute name fool you. ‘Periwinkle’ sounds adorable but it’s a really complex color.
7.) Got flip-flops? So do I. My favorite pair is a worn leather flop from REI, one of my favorite stores. I’ll even wear them in winter. Don’t care. I’m rebellious like that. Always wearing flip-flops in the winter, popping Altoids . . .
So now I get to nominate 7 other bloggers . . . these bloggers are as cool as cat pajamas and I feel they deserve a Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award.
Drum roll please . . .
