I write humorous women’s fiction set in the idyllic Village of Primm and am thrilled to announce—with immense gratitude to my literary agent, Joëlle Delbourgo—that I’m signed to a two-book contract with Lake Union/Amazon Publishing.
Stay tuned for more news of my forthcoming debut novel, Holly Banks Full of Angst, a story about fitting in, letting go, and challenging the status quo in the cutthroat world of motherhood. This novel, the first in a series, features an intelligent but ill-fated Walter Mitty -esque film school mom living an underdog, fish-out-of-water existence in a gilded suburb.
There’s so much I want to say (and will say soon) about this novel and series, but for now, I can share that one of the unique features of my storytelling is the depiction of characters connecting through different mediums: scriptwriting, texts, email, voicemail, Enclave Alerts, school correspondence, even security cameras, Western Union money transfers, messages from a psychic, and a recipe spelled backward. My main character, Holly, often lapses into fantasy sequences and film references. She does this as an escape but also to connect with her art.
Publication is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2019.
